Presentation of the TGV-Est Européen
(TGV-POS)
After having been told that the new TGV for the upcoming services in 2007, called TGV Est-Européen, will be presented in Luxembourg (Thanks to Sönke here!), it was for sure I had to go there! ;-) The main point of the presentation was the new interior of the future TGV-POS, created by the famous french designer Christian Lacroix, who is also responsible for the new interior of the Atlantique and Réseau trains being renovated now. In contrast to the displayed trainset, which still had the classic, edgy Réseau powercars, the TGV-POS will receive newly constructed ones, which are very similar to the Duplex powercars. Then, those new triple-system TGV trains will connect Paris to e.g. Stuttgart, Munich and Zürich via the new LGV-Est, with up to 320 km/h. The prototype nr. 4401 is currently busy with test runs... |

Beside the 'official' compartment of the train managers, called 'Infopoint', there is another small room, where one can also find a drawing of the whole trainset, a help in case of e.g. appearing technical problems |

This was really not avoidable, a detailed photo of the TGV's beautiful edges, how they shine in the sunlight!!! ;-) |
